Consultation Groups for Therapists and Social Workers

In partnership with Kathy Langsam MFT, my monthly consultation group provides training and utilization of Systems Theory and Wrap-Around Services for licensed MFTs and LCSWs. Our consultation group provides didactic training and case presentation toward incorporation of a broader systems approach. CAMFT approved CEUs are available for these 2-hour sessions.

Topics include:

1. How to expand unit of treatment beyond the individual client.
2. How to conceptualize a case from a “case management” point of view – envisioning services beyond the 50-minute hour.
3. How to include the school system into the treatment team, and plan, including teacher consultations and IEPs.
4. How and what to share with Probation departments, to support and protect clients’ rehabilitation and confidentiality.
5. How to assess, refer and work through resistance as well as monitor medications and interact with the medical community.
6. How to assess for and treat co-occurring disorders – including managing treatment plans for multiple care providers.
